Scientists and researchers recently published a report that they have have found a chemical compound that induces hair growth by blocking a stress-related hormone associated with hair loss.

"Our findings show that a short-duration treatment with this compound causes an astounding long-term hair regrowth in chronically stressed mutant mice,"

For some reason, a successful experiment for irritable bowel disease became instantaneously famous for mice that grew back their hair. In the first place, this is what the experiment was all about. The mice were supposed to grow back their hair if and when the CRF antagonist works. This means that astressin B is an effective drug in treating stress related irritable bowel disease.

When we’re stressed out, we experience all sorts of bowel problems like diarrhea, constipation, ulcer, vomiting, etc... This experiment shows that astressin B can potentially reverse all that.

Now can astressin be used as a treatment for stress related hair loss? Well, it worked for the mice but using it on people, this is still very much in the beginning stages or very farfetched.

Why? Because there is no way to compare what the mice been through, the mice were genetically altered to be under constant stress from birth. In fact, they don’t even know what stress is because they already consumed by it. No stress triggers, no stressful moments because they are stressed constantly.  The truth is, stress-related hair loss(Telegen Effluvium), is not that common.
