My hair loss story:
My hair loss story began at age 17. I first noticed some excessive shedding. It was not a big deal at the time. Then, after a co-worker commented on how thin my hair was getting, at age 19 my hair loss became real to me. Others had finally began noticed it. I was devastated.
The first questions I remember asking myself were; “why me?” and “why this young?” My mother had told me that my grandfather had lost most of his hair at an early age and that I’d follow along that same genetic path that he did.
I then knew that one day I was most likely going to end up bald. It was at that moment that I started trying every hair loss remedy available to me including the power house combo of Minoxidil and Propecia. I was also told by my stylist at the time to use Nioxin products. Well… like so many others, nothing worked.
Within two years I had lost so much hair that I began to start shaving my head due to the embarrassment of having thin spots all over my scalp. Unfortunately for me, I did not have the right shaped head to pull off the shaved look. My family and friends thought I looked “ill”. I began to wear hats and beanies everywhere I went to disguise my hair loss.
In my early twenties while living in Manhattan, I played guitar in a band around the city. My hair loss had gotten to the point were I wouldn’t leave my apartment without completely covering up my head. I played night after night under the stage lights wearing a hat. I was never a vain person but it was a devastating time for me because my self-confidence was at an all time low.

In 2003, after moving to Arizona I learned of Evolution’s new treatment that used laser therapy to stimulate hair growth. I met with Will Gaunitz and shared with him my hair loss story. After learning about his hair loss journey and how he grew his hair back, I immediately started the Evolution Hair Center’s Program.
After about 8 weeks into the treatment I couldn’t believe what was happening. After years covering my hair loss, I saw that my own hair, that I thought I’d never see again, was growing back. I’d take pictures every few weeks to compare to the last set and consistently new darker hairs would be growing in. After the program ended, I had gained back about 80% of the hair that I originally thought I would never see again.
It was at that time that I became involved in Evolution Hair Centers and built awareness by helping other hair loss suffers learn about this specialized type of treatment.
In 2009, after spending years with the company learning laser hair therapy, Trichology, and holistic healing, I became the COO of Evolution Companies.
My advice to anyone out there suffering from hair loss would be to acknowledge it in its early stages, the longer you wait to try and get help the less chance you will have to grow it back.
